When He Have Faces

an idea for a series of photos has been floating around in my head. a focus on faces and what faces mean to us. not by shooting them though. an exploration of what makes pepole feel like themselves, to be aware of their place in reality. a body to feel comfortable with, a face to see every day in the mirror, a familiar voice heard? what are we without our faces?

just some things ive been thinking about when i look at pictures. ive done an ok amount of commercial photo work (weddings, portraits, etc.) and i do enjoy it. its convenient to make money off of this art. i think about the purists of the 40's earlier era's of photography. its very idealistic especially in this age of technology and accessibility. everyone is a photographer. anyone can exploit it especially as a means of production (too college-y and cliche? maybe) but there is something to be said about photography for the sake of photography, art for the sake of art. i think there is something kind of sacred about exploration in art, something priceless to express an idea and share it with others.much like stories passed on from generations. alright im rambling and im tired. here are a few ideas for this exploration.

who are you?
